Seasonal photoshoot for holiday candle launch

Trish & Jon Belna own and operate a hand poured, soy candle business in Raleigh, NC. I worked with them on their holiday lineup of scents ahead of the holiday rush. Trish lamented her struggles the previous year to photograph her candles herself. For this shoot I brought in natural elements that complimented the scent profiles but also didn’t detract from the mason jar and amber jar style candle. I had the most fun with the creme brulee scent, melting down burnt sugar into a piece of caramel with rough edges that brought a lot of dimension to the scene. For the lifestyle images I wanted to portray a feeling of cozy/winter warmth using a model wearing a sweater and flannel.
